Browser Compatibility
Flexible.gs is designed with modern web standards in mind, aiming for wide compatibility across contemporary desktop and mobile browsers. We prioritize a consistent and reliable experience for the vast majority of internet users.
Core Technology Support
The primary CSS technologies underpinning Flexible.gs (such as Flexbox and potentially CSS Grid for certain components or future versions) enjoy excellent support in all current major browsers. This means the core layout capabilities of Flexible.gs function reliably where these features are supported.
Officially Supported Browsers
We actively test and ensure Flexible.gs works as expected in the latest stable versions of the following browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based)
- Apple Safari (Desktop & iOS)
- Opera
- Most other Chromium-based browsers.
Legacy Browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer)
Flexible.gs does **not** officially support Internet Explorer (IE11 and older) or other significantly outdated browsers. While some basic styling or layout aspects might incidentally work due to the use of fundamental CSS, we do not test for or guarantee functionality in these environments.
Recommendation: For the best performance, security, and access to all of Flexible.gs's features, we strongly encourage users to browse with up-to-date, modern web browsers.
Progressive Enhancement
Our philosophy leans towards progressive enhancement. This means core content should be accessible even in very old browsers, while the enhanced layout and features provided by Flexible.gs will be available to users with modern browsers capable of supporting its underlying CSS technologies.
Reporting Issues
If you encounter a compatibility issue with a modern, supported browser version listed above, please feel free to report it (e.g., via our GitHub issues page or contact form, if available). Providing details about the browser version, operating system, and steps to reproduce the issue will be immensely helpful.
By focusing on modern standards, Flexible.gs aims to provide a robust and future-friendly foundation for your responsive web projects.
